September 28, 2003 - Bloomington, IN - DAY OFF!!

When I woke up we were still a couple of hours outside of Bloomington, IN. When we got to the hotel I immediately recognized the area from the previous time we played in Bloomington. Victor asked if I wanted to go for a walk with him and I told him that would be fine after I unloaded my luggage. I went up to my hotel room and unpacked and I went back down and met him at the bus. We found out what everything was in town from the woman at the front desk - she told us where the malls and movie theaters were and also all the good restaurants. While we were walking a woman in a mini van pulled on to the sidewalk because she had recognized Victor. After listening to her talk to him for a while I realized that she had apparently interviewed him a couple of years before. They talked for a while - I just find it amazing that we could be walking down any street and that people can just recognize him in passing, not even knowing that he was in their town. Sometimes it's like being with Michael Jackson!

We got downtown and checked out all the shops. Downtown Bloomington is small but kinda' cool. We caught a cab to the local mall and we walked around the mall for a while. Then our friend Rod picked us up and I asked him to take me to Office Depot and wouldn't you know it - they had the Palm Pilot modem that I had been looking for the whole tour. When we left we went to a local Thai food place and had a very good meal. Danette and Divinity came in while we were in there, so we all ate dinner together. They rode back to the hotel with us and we decided we were all going to get back on the tour bus to watch a couple of episodes of '24'. Victor bought the whole series on DVD and now he's addicted to it. We watched 2 one hour episodes, then Rod had to go home and Divinity went up to her hotel room. I decided at about 11:00PM that I was going to walk the quarter mile to the Laundromat and do my laundry. Victor decided that he would walk with me. So we walked over and did my laundry and that took over an hour. When we got back to the hotel it was about 12:30AM. I went up to my room - I was extremely tired from all the walking I had done. My wife called and we talked for a while. I was getting very tired - even though we were on Central time, my body was on East Coast time. I still have no clue what day of the week it is! It doesn't even matter!

peace & blessings
