January 22, 2003 - San Francisco, California

I had time to have breakfast with Derico & Zach before we left Citrus Heights, since bus call wasn't till 11:30AM. It wasn't too long of a trip either - only 3 hours to get to San Francisco. We played at the Great American Music Hall which is a great theater - very ornate. But get this…it use to be a bordello! As nice as the theater was it was in kind of a seedy end of town - right there with the rest of the bordello's and strip clubs!

This show was being filmed by Pollstar - they are a company that rates concerts. They took pictures also, so I guess they're gonna' do a write up. It was a good show for them to be at because we had a sell out. There was a lot of good energy out there.

I had Thai food for dinner AGAIN - seems like every day I'm eating Thai. I guess I'll satisfy that craving for quite a while, huh! Some more bass camp people came out to the show. It's always good to see folks from camp. Also, Jon & Doniga brought a lot of friends to the gig, including twins Nicole & Tiffany Morgan. Also, John's son Aidan came out. Jon Young helped me out with the show's opening "skit". Mostly everybody in the band & crew thought this was the best show of the tour yet. Victor asked me to do a solo at the end of the show, but I declined because I noticed that the bass had gone a little bit out of tune. His finale's can be very…energetic (for lack of a better term) and the basses get banged around a little bit in last song of the show. So by the time we do the encore, the basses are out of tune so I wasn't gonna go there!

After we packed up we had what seemed like a 40 minute ride back to the hotel, which was a very nice hotel, by the way. Even though it was late, I did manage to get on my computer for about an hour and check some email before I crashed. Anyway, I wanted to say hi to Vuyani since I know he's been reading these tour diary updates every day. Thanks, man! What's up?

That's all for now - I'll holla' atcha' later…

peace,

anthony
